Come join us for a trip of a lifetime to the world's most renowned "Land of Happiness". Enjoy 10 nights and 11 days of touring some of the most amazing cities, villages, and sites in one of the most beautiful, 'untouched' countries in the world.
We will spend our first 2 nights in the city of Paro,
where we will be able to immerse ourselves in the country's largest cultural capital. We will be welcomed by a traditional Chipdrel ritual where monks and dancers will escort us into our first hotel followed by a very special welcome ceremony that will take place in our hotel lobby.
We will then spend the next full day in Paro, taking in some of the most majestic temples in all of Bhutan.
We will then continue on to the the capital city of Thimphu, where we will spend two nights enjoying some more of the local beauty, culture and architecture. On our way there, we will make a stop at the world famous Tiger's Nest Monastery where will will take a day hike and enjoy some most awe-inspiring views !
While in Thimpu, we will also have the honor of participating in a Puja ceremony, where will be personally blessed in a ceremony by the local monks. This will be a most memorable moment for all as we will be in the presence of some of the most enlightened beings in all of Bhutan.
We then travel over the awe-inspiring Dochu La pass to the mountainside village of Punakha where we will spend 3 nights enjoying many wonderful walks, picnics on the river and hikes to some more magnificent Buddhist temples and villages, all the while enjoying the blossoming rhododendrons all around us.
One of the highlights of this trip is the stop we make at the Buddha Dordenma Statue, one of the largest golden Buddhas in the world, standing at a height of 51 meters. It is truly a breathtaking site to see in person.
After Punakha, we will slowly make our way back to Thimpu with a leisurely drive that will get us into town for a fun early Easter celebration with the local families and children. It is all about the easter egg hunt that day and we will have so much fun with the local kids !
We will then end the tour with a very big "high note" as we arrive in Paro just in time for the country's most popular religious dance festival of the year: The Paro Tshechu. Here we will witness the entire city gathering for this most colorful event that celebrates the birth of Buddha. This is truly an unforgettable experience !
